Welcome to the official site for the Bude Canal and Harbour Society.

The site will keep members up to date with all things “Bude Canal” but has information about the history and future of the Canal. Features and pictures about activity on the Canal. Current issues of our newsletter “The Tub Boat”, links to other websites such as Bude Stratton Town Council, Bude Museum and the Bude Tourist Board/Visitor Centre and possibly to others.

Canal Regeneration Photos

As promised our new section is now ready in phase 1* - It will be a photographic record of the Canal Regeneration Project and we have now found the right software (thanks to Jalbum & Lazaworx) to enable us to present these in an attractive way, to continually add pictures and further information - all photos by Chris Jewell

Click here to access the photo-site

Start by clicking on the albums and then the pictures to enlarge them and move back and forth to view them - there is a help button too

*Phase 2 very soon as we have over 50 more of Chris's photos to go up next week

We are delighted to be able to bring you the

BUDE CANAL MAP 1904

with eight delightfully reproduced maps together with introduction and full surveyor's notes for each map. Special thanks to The National Lottery, Awards for All and Bude-Stratton Town Council - among others - for making this possible.

Also we now have 20 issues of The Tub Boat available on this site, together with all photos - just follow the link above - makes very interesting reading!
